Corvettes and Go-Karting

The BMW Club going to THE Corvette Museum! The Corvette  Museum is for all car enthusiasts. Overnight stay optional.

**Expenses are detailed at the bottom

Yes. This is a Corvette Museum. Yes, I know you drive a BMW. But, that

is okay. Who hasn't given a second glance at a Vette? The Corvette

Museum is amazing and you WILL enjoy the self-guided tour.

There is so much to see!

  • ‘Car-Toon Creatures, Kustom Kars and Corvettes: The Art and Influence of Ed ‘Big Daddy’ Roth (see below for more details)

  • Sinkhole in the Museum’s Skydome which swallowed eight Corvettes

  • One Corvette of each generation

  • Pre-Production 2019 ZR1 Displayed at Museum

  • Corvette Profiles – 2005 MVB Corvette “Number 61”

  • Corvette Profiles – The Last of the C3s

  • Corvette Profiles – 1986 Corvette Indy

‘Car-Toon Creatures, Kustom Kars and Corvettes: The Art and Influence of Ed ‘Big Daddy’ Roth is now open in the National Corvette Museum’s Exhibit Hall. ‘Rat Fink,’ a cartoon character created by Ed Roth, later became the car culture mascot and would go on to introduce a generation of young people to the amazing world of automobiles. Some of those young people would grow up to build their own tributes to Roth, creating some of the amazing cars that can be seen in the exhibit.

It takes about 1 1/2 hours to complete the tour. There will be a brief greeting before we begin our self-guided tour. We do not have to stay together. Enjoy the museum at your leaure.

* If you own a Vette, drive it. Club members won't hold it against you for too long! 😊

DRIVE DETAILS: More details will be sent to you the week of the drive

  • We will meet in Oliver Springs at 8:40am and depart at 9:00am sharp. This is a wonderful, relaxing back-roads drive through the rural countryside. Every once in awhile we will come across a few twists and turns. The roads are oddly not congested and there are only a couple of small towns we will travel through.

  • From point A to point B the drive is about 3-3 1/2 hours. We are going to have a couple of potty breaks and stop for lunch. So, getting to point B will take a little longer.

  • The original plan was to eat at the Corvette Cafe, but the combination of a large group and limited seating doe not go together well. Instead will have a picnic lunch on the square in Glasgow, Ky. There are plenty of trees to offer us good shade.

  • The square has 4-5 restaurants; however, they were not "taste-tested". So, either Google what is available to eat there or bring your own lunch. Don't forget to bring chairs.

  • We only have 30 more miles to go!

  • We will arrive around 1:00pm (Central Time).
